This autographed electric guitar from the rock band Papa Roach was preserved in a custom-built 6-inch deep seamless shadowbox frame designed to make a bold visual statement. The guitar is mounted at a dynamic angle, allowing its shape, signature, and hardware to remain fully visible while creating depth and movement within the display.
A custom upholstered backing was created specifically for this piece, featuring a padded, tufted finish that adds texture, contrast, and visual impact. The upholstered background elevates the presentation while protecting the instrument, transforming the shadowbox into a gallery-quality display rather than a traditional frame. The custom upholstery for this project was created in collaboration with Fleshers Upholstery in Ottawa, whose century-long experience in fine upholstery helped bring the client’s vision to life.
Framing full-size musical instruments requires advanced mounting techniques and careful structural planning. This shadowbox was engineered to support the guitar’s weight securely using concealed mounting methods, allowing the instrument to appear as though it is floating naturally within the frame. UV-protective, anti-reflection glass was used to preserve the autograph and finish while minimizing glare from all viewing angles.

To ensure safe installation, this piece was completed with a reinforced Z-bar hanging system designed specifically for heavy, deep frames. This professional-grade mounting solution distributes weight evenly and provides added security which is ideal for large wall displays. Additional photo shows the Z-bar system in place.

This custom guitar shadowbox is a perfect example of how Framing & Display can frame large, high-value memorabilia to any depth, combining craftsmanship, creativity, and technical expertise into one seamless presentation.
